Howard Goodall is pictured here with our Secretary – Alan Hibbert,

Howard Goodall, the well known composer who currently has his series “The History of Music” on BBC 2, visited the local mixed choir, Fauls Singers, at their rehearsal on Wednesday.  Howard has come together with Cancer Research UK to write a new piece of music for the charity which will be titled “More Tomorrows”. He is touring the country interviewing cancer survivors to get a feel of what it is like to be diagnosed with cancer so that he can get the right atmosphere in his new piece of music.  To this end he interviewed choir member Alan Hibbert and discussed his experience of being diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009. The interview was filmed by Classic FM and it will be posted on their website in due course.

The choir was delighted to welcome Howard and sang some pieces for him including his own composition “The Lord is my Shepherd” which is the theme song for the TV series “the Vicar of Dibley”.
