Accompanists

Margaret Corlett

Margaret graduated from London University with a joint Honours Degree in Music and German. After spending four years in Salzburg, Austria, she returned to England to work as a teacher. Living in Leeds, she developed her career as a freelance pianist and accompanist, working especially with solo singers and instrumentalists as well as choirs and operatic societies. She also branched out into Musical Directing for several musical plays and conducting a small choir.

This was followed by 2 years in Holland where she expanded her linguistic abilities, teaching piano and flute in English, German and Dutch, directing a multi-national choir and working with a Dutch clarinettist.

Returning to live in the Chester area, she is now established as an accompanist, teacher and choral director. She has performed with many soloists and choirs, and works for Music in Hospitals, as well as teaching privately from beginners to diploma level and working for Music for Life.

During this time Margaret has worked part-time at Sir John Deane’s College helping music students to develop and rehearse their A-level repertoire, as well as directing the Chamber Choir. She also teaches music at The Queen’s Lower School, where she directs the Junior Choir.

Wedding Information

What a difference it will make to your wedding ceremony to have a large mixed choir leading the hymn singing and keeping the guests entertained during the signing of the register. We will also sing as the guests arrive if you wish.
