Choir History

We are members of the National Association Of Choirs.

The Kelsborrow Choir takes its name from Kelsborrow Hill, a feature of the village of Kelsall near Chester in the county of Cheshire where the choir was founded in 1956 by a group of parents from the local primary school to support PTA activities and fund-raising. In 2016 the Choir celebrated its 60th Anniversary rapidly outgrowing its original purpose, the 60-strong mixed voice Choir is now firmly established on the Chester musical scene and performs regularly, both locally and internationally. Members are drawn from throughout the surrounding area. A registered charity, the Kelsborrow Choir gives concerts in support of local and national charities. Our music is varied, we sing songs from the musicals, some jazz and spirituals, together with more modern songs. From time to time we also sing some classical and church music – Something for everyone! The Choir is available for charity fund-raising events, weddings and similar social functions.
