As some of you may already know Ken has retired from his position as our Musical Director and the Committee have appointed him as Associate Musical Director. Ken has been associated with the Choir for 52 years, first as a chorister under the direction of his father, then as our Musical Director for 46 years. The Choir will commemorate this great achievement by holding a Celebration Black Tie Dinner at the Chester Town Hall.
The grey and red sandstone, Gothic style Town Hall, with its tower and spire rising to a height of 160 feet was completed in 1869. It was opened on October 15th that year by the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII. Follow the link for more information on the History of Chester Town Hall.
