Lynne Cowley


After graduating from Nottingham University in 1974, Lynne has taught music in several Cheshire schools, both Primary and Secondary. During that time she acted as an accompanist for school productions, choirs and Associated Board Exams.  She retired last year (2020) from Christleton High School where she taught piano and keyboard (2006 – 2020 )
Her most prestigious role as an accompanist began with Warrington Male voice Choir,  with husband Alistair being one of the choristers. This position lasted 12 years and included tours to Ireland, France, Germany and Canada.( 1985 – 1997 ) During this period, she also accompanied and directed a local Operatic Society working with both senior and junior members.

Lynne is not only a pianist – she was  14 years a member of the Halle Choir based in Manchester, alongside her husband of course! ( 1999 – 2013 ) After several seasons singing with Chester Festival Chorus, they  have both  become members of the Vale Royal Singers, also directed by Margaret Corlett ( from 2017 )
