Founded in 1956, the Kelsborrow Choir takes its name from Kelsborrow Hill, a well-known landmark in the village of Kelsall near Chester, Cheshire. Originally formed by parents from the local primary school to support PTA events and fundraising activities, the choir has grown far beyond its beginnings.

In 2026, the Choir is proudly celebrating its 70th Anniversary. With around 50 mixed voices, Kelsborrow Choir is firmly established within Chester’s vibrant musical community, performing regularly both locally and internationally. Our members come from across the surrounding area and share a passion for music, friendship, and community.

As a registered charity and a proud member of the National Association of Choirs, the Choir regularly presents concerts in support of both local and national charitable causes. Our repertoire is wide-ranging and designed to appeal to all tastes, featuring songs from musicals, jazz, spirituals, contemporary favourites, and, from time to time, classical and sacred music — truly something for everyone.

Kelsborrow Choir is also available to perform at charity fundraising events, weddings, and other special occasions.

We are celebrating our 70th Anniversary year with a series of special concerts and events, and we are looking forward to marking this exciting milestone with our audiences, friends, and supporters throughout the year.
